The project involved a complete tear-out of the interior, the installation of new elevators, escalators, and new prototype retail environments on two floors, in addition to two lower levels of support space and back-of-house functions. Included in the project was a complete upgrade to the building: a new fire protection system, relocated electrical service, mechanical systems, and extensive structural upgrades and modifications.
The façade was removed and replaced with a custom design of all glass cladding systems, developed to act as a rain screen - as all moisture protection and thermal requirements are managed behind the iridescent glass and aluminium cladding. The 23,000 SF project was designed and constructed in under 12 months.
