FIFTH AVENUE APARTMENT
New York, NY
On the Upper East Side lies a Lenart Architecture-designed apartment full of warmth and character.
This gut renovation project breathed new life to our clients’ home, revamping the space to a one bedroom that includes a library, two full bathrooms, and a powder room. Our team also made sure to inject elements of the pre-war era to retain the charm of the original building.
The apartment was upgraded with new lighting and AC, with a new air distribution system thoughtfully concealed in the shallow ceiling.
Additionally, our clients’ home has been improved with an updated electrical system, as well as custom design ceiling moldings, doors, trim, and new tile and marble finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms.
All the woodwork details have been replaced with reinterpreted pieces of the building’s original aesthetic, with the wooden floors restored throughout with upgraded floor soundproofing.
Our clients have been able to enjoy the extraordinary view of Central Park from their new exterior window - an added feature that had to be specially approved by the LPC - manifesting a truly inspired renewal of this classic Fifth Avenue apartment building.
"Bill Lenart, director of NYC-based Lenart Architecture not only did a fantastic job designing the complete renovation of our 5th Avenue apartment, but he and his team were a total delight to work with.
He developed interesting design concepts which included coffered ceilings to house necessary lighting and a ceiling fan. Concepts including opening up rooms, adding an exterior window allowing a view of Central Park and lots more storage. Throughout the project, he attended weekly design meetings and supervised our general contractor.
Bill’s experience and expertise with NYC regulations as well as historic or landmark buildings allowed our project to move along without delays or setbacks. Bill was indeed the captain of our renovation ship. His colleagues and suggestions for specialists were spot on. We highly recommend Lenart Architecture. "
